Hand-Carved Signs and Projects are the ultimate in custom and hand-crafted. Truly one-of-a-kind.
HOW THEY ARE MADE:
Using gouges (similar to chisels) and a wooden mallet, the design is slowly brought out by chipping the wood away in small bits. Each gouge mark is visible, creating a scalloped look that allows the text and graphical element to jump off the sign.
Three coats of hand-brushed semi-gloss spar urethane protects the sign from moisture, UV and scuffs. Hanger eyelets or rear mounts are added, if requested.

PICKING YOUR DESIGN ELEMENTS OR BRINGING YOUR OWN DESIGN:
It doesn’t matter if you have a design or logo already, or have a need for a sign and no idea of what it would look like! I can work with your art elements, your ideas or provide you with several illustrations samples you can pick from that best works for your needs. (Note: Live edge (bark) is available on certain sizes.)
PRODUCTION TIME: Minimum of 2 weeks, depending on the size and complexity.
COST: Varies, based on size and detail, and starts as low as $175 for a 10”x24” home address sign, for example. Prices range up for larger signs measured in feet. There is no “maximum size” for a sign; just share where you plan to display the sign and we can discuss appropriate sizes and costs. A rough estimate can be provided in discussing your hand-carved needs. Once artwork is finalized a firm cost estimate will be provided.
VARIATIONS & INTEGRATIONS: The hand-carved process is not only for signs. It can be also be integrated with resin-filled, sunken relief or raised-relief styles.
